Charted in real time

The world doesn't
wait for you.
It plays itself.

A single, persistent, AI-simulated realm built on the ashes of our own. Its factions scheme, its events unfold, its story is written — whether or not anyone is watching.

The simulation

A world with a pulse of its own

ForgeWeaver is not a stage set waiting for players. It is a running simulation — and you are one actor among many, mortal and NPC alike.

Alive in real time

No global tick. Every event, journey and scene runs on its own clock. Log off and the world keeps turning without you.

Emergent, not scripted

Quests, rumours and calamities are produced by the state of the world — pressures, factions, ambition — never hand-placed.

AI at the core

A model gateway drives faction strategy, dialogue and lore — with cheap behaviour trees by default and graceful, template-based fallback.

Outcomes, not clocks

The world couples to the results of events, not their duration — so it can be vast, concurrent, and never deadlocked.

Death means something

Permadeath by default. Only rare magic cheats it. Every choice carries real, lasting weight in a world that remembers.

Secrets to be found

Hidden realms, techniques and stories reveal themselves only to those who meet their conditions. Be the first to chart them.

The setting

A fantasy world on the ashes of ours

The old world ended when magic emerged — for why relearn how to make fire when you can summon it? Technology was forgotten and the world was rebuilt on its own ruins. What survives of our age endures only as relics.

Magic and technology are diametrically opposed — master one and you dull the other — so the rare technologist walks a lonely, dangerous road among sorcerers.

A nested, coherent map

Orbiting globe → chart → region → the surveyor's plan of a town → the battlemap a scene is fought over. Every rung is the same world, drawn closer.

Fog & discovery

You only know what you have seen. The map is the interface; exploration is the game.

Lineage & species

Build a family tree of parents and grandparents; your character is a blend — heritage, not a build calculator.

Become what you do

Classless and action-driven. Skills, traits and magic share one branching tree — and atrophy if neglected.

The Game Master, reimagined

A showrunner, not a world-builder

The world already exists and runs itself. The GM's craft is drama — seeding arcs, steering emergent stories, and running live scenes on top of a world that already breathes.

"Game Masters do not build the world — the simulation does. They are storytellers on a stage that is already alive."

— The ForgeWeaver design

Author living events

Inject a villain's scheme or a festival as a first-class event the simulation then carries, reshapes, and offers to others.

Run live scenes

Compose battlemaps and foes from a prompt, then referee real-time encounters with server-authoritative dice.

Earned trust

Authority is earned, not switched on. Prove yourself with good stories and your scope — and your stakes — grow.

The build

Charted, and under way

ForgeWeaver is being built ground-up on a lean, deployable foundation. Here is the order of the voyage.

Foundation & deploy now

Rails 8 monolith, single Postgres, one-container deploy, accounts — the ground you're standing on.

The AI gateway

One abstraction over free models, with heuristic fallback so the world always runs.

Generation & the map

Deterministic world → region → settlement generators and the fogged, zoomable cartographer map.

The living simulation

Self-scheduling events, pressures and factions — a world visibly alive with nobody online.

Play & the Game Master

Characters, quests, encounters, and the tools for storytellers to steer the drama.
